Just last week J. Cole announced a new album coming in January, and now he's hit fans with the first official single from the project. "Miss America," teased over the weekend with a preview video, hit iTunes this morning, giving fans a taste of what they can expect from Mr. Cole's sophomore effort, Born Sinner.
Produced by Cole himself, the track opens with a sample of President John F. Kennedy's famous 1961 inaugural address followed by a heavy guitar riff. In keeping with the album's theme, Cole raps about "dancing with the devil" and "living on the edge."
"N---as only see a priest when we in a hearse," he rhymes.
"Miss America" is available now via iTunes.
