Wakanda U: ‘Black Panther’ Is Taking Over Howard’s Graduation And Twitter Is Absolutely Living

Except, of course, the students at other HBCUs.

Howard University just won the commencement speaker lottery.

  • According to a statement released by the HBCU, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will address the school and it’s slated to be L-I-T.

Boseman is a graduate of the University and will give his speech on May 12. It will also be the 150th commencement at Howard.

If he wasn’t already winning enough off of the Marvel Studios movie, Chadwick will presented with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, the university’s highest honor.

President Wayne Frederick said in a statement that Black Panther “reminds us of the excellence found in the African diaspora and how Howard continues to be a gem that produces the next generation of artist-scholars, humanitarians, scientists, engineers and doctors.”

Boseman is just the latest high profile speaker Howard’s been able to get. In the last few years, President Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, and Diddy, among others.

Oh yeah, and social media was already partying (or mad if you don’t go to Howard) over the news. See their response below.
