Well, Damn: Nick Cannon Comes To Kevin Hart’s Defense By Pulling Up Old Homophobic Tweets From Several White Comedians

“Interesting. I wonder if there was any backlash here…”

By now, you may have heard that Kevin Hart has chosen to step down from hosting the 2019 Oscars after being asked by the Academy to once again apologize for old tweets that used homophobic language.

"I chose to pass on the apology," he shared in an Instagram video revealing they gave him an ultimatum. "The reason why I passed is because I've addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I've addressed it. I've spoken on it. I've said where the rights and wrongs were. I've said who I am now versus who I was then. I've done it. I'm not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old when I've moved on and I'm in a completely different place in my life."

Reports have surfaced that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has already set their eyes on another comedian to host the 2019 Oscars, none other than comedy legend, Eddie Murphy.

Irritated with the double standards in Hollywood and coming to his fellow Black man’s defense, Nick Cannon did some investigating and pulled out receipts showing that white comedians including, Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, and Sarah Silverman have used homophobic slurs on Twitter but have yet to experience any career complications.

See the double standards he found below that has us shaking our heads:

  1. "This is what a f*g bird likes like when he flexes." - Chelsea Handler

  2. "I dont mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette's a f*ggot." - Sarah Silverman
