Nicole Murphy Apologizes To Lela Rochon On Live Television For Kissing Her Husband

The model infamously locked lips with Antoine Fuqua during a trip to Italy.

Nicole Murphy appeared on Tuesday morning's episode of the Wendy Williams Show, where she was grilled about the recent scandal involving her kissing film director Antoine Fuqua, who is married to Waiting to Exhale star Lela Rochon.

While in the hot seat, the model explained that she regrets the kiss. However, she adds that, contrary to reports, she did not release a statement addressing the scandal.

As previously reported, Murphy, 51, was photographed by paparazzi sharing a kiss with Fuqua while the two were in Italy. Fuqua was reportedly there for a film festival while the model claims she happened to be in town on business of her own.

"It was a frozen-in-time thing," she told Wendy Williams of the makeout session. "Trust me, I wish it didn't happen. It was a moment where I should've thought more through the situation. Make better judgments. It's something I apologized for."

After the photos were released, Murphy reportedly put out a statement claiming she and Fuqua were just friends. However, during the interview, she denies authorship of those words.

"I did not put out that statement," she said. "I did not release that statement, Wendy."

In the statement in question, which she reportedly issued to Love B. Scott, she apologized for her actions, maintaining, "Antoine and I are just family friends. I ran into him in Italy and we exchanged a friendly hello and that was it."

After Murphy's denial on the Wendy show, B. Scott released a screenshot in an attempt to prove the original statement did, in fact, come from her.

After urging women on Williams' show to do their research because "this could happen to you," Murphy admitted that she may have "had a different impression of [Fuqua and Rochon's marriage]," at the time.

She further stressed that reports that she broke up Fuqua and Rochon's marriage are "absolutely false," and, with the prompt from Williams, addressed Rochon through the camera.

"Darling, it was a mistake," she said. "I apologize."

Neither Fuqua nor Rochon has responded to her claims since the details of the kiss initially leaked.
