Celebrities Remember Rep. Elijah E. Cummings’ Legacy In Light Of His Passing
Democratic Maryland Rep. Elijah E. Cummings died on Thursday morning (October 17) due to complications from long-standing health challenges. He was 68.
Cummings' congressional office confirmed the news in a statement.
Cummings, who unwaveringly advocated for the constituents in his majority Black district, played a key role in the investigation of President Donald Trump. While serving as chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, he led several investigations into Trump's government matters.
