A lot has plagued Bobby Brown since the deaths of his wife and their daughter. He’s been pretty tight-lipped too since each passed away, as most of the public has implicated him in being involved in both of their demises.
Now, during an exclusive interview with Robin Roberts for 20/20, the New Edition singer is speaking out about his past. When asked if he had anything to do with the death of Whitney Houston, he denied it.
"It wasn't me," he told 20/20. "I take my part and I take it hard for me even being a part of it, but we all have our own minds and some of us are stronger than others."
Brown has been rumored to be violent towards women in the past but denies he was abusive to both Houston and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.
"They said that I've harmed Whitney, that I was violent towards her," he said. "It was just lies. I've never been a violent man towards a woman ever." However, in his newly released book, Every Little Step, he does admit to striking his wife once. "I did. Me at the time, trying to maintain a sobriety and the person that's in your relationship is not going along with it — it was rough."
Both Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristina Brown were found unconscious in bathtubs right before they died. Houston passed away in 2012, while Bobbi Kristina died just last year. Watch the full interview segment here.
