Here's How Much Money Bobby Shmurda Is Reportedly Making With New Prison Job

Even prison time is money.

Brookyln-bred rap star Bobby Shmurda, real name Ackquille Jean Pollard, isn’t even a quarter of the way into his seven-year bid for murder conspiracy, so it only makes sense he’d make the most of his time behind bars.

And that he is, as TMZ reports that he’s just landed a new job in the prison commissary at the Clinton Correctional Facility despite his wage being far off from what the GS9 squad member is probably used to.

According to TMZ, the “Hot N***a” rapper is stacking up coins between 10 to 25 cents an hour at the facility, an average of $7.75 per week. Focusing on a new responsibility while incarcerated might keep his head above water for now, too, as the site adds he was involved in a scuffle with his fellow inmates in November.

The prison staff was able to break things up, but Bobby reportedly ended up still losing phone privileges for an unnamed period of time and was sent to solitary confinement for a month, TMZ adds. That situation came just months before a reported 1.3 to four years was tacked on to his prison sentence after he plead guilty to contraband promotion charges as well.

The hope now is that the new position helps thwart any more trouble for the 22-year-old as he serves the rest of his time.
