Cardi B’s talk of the town with “Bodak Yellow” got even louder on Sunday (September 24) when the Bronx rapper’s breakthrough single scored a No. 1 seat on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and dethroned Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.”
Posted on her Instagram account with a boomerang video effect, Cardi was elated while holding a bouquet of flowers. Her Migos rap boo thing Offset may be the first person to come to mind after such a bright smile pinned on her face. But according to her caption, it was actually Swift who had her beaming with joy at the flowerets.
“Sooo beautiful and lovely,” she responded. “Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers…and I freaking love your music.”
The gesture from Swift is just one of several rounds of applause Cardi has received from her fellow industrymates. From hip-hop’s finest such as J. Cole, Missy Elliott and T.I. to the R&B circle with Kehlani, and Tamar Braxton, the “Bodak Yellow” femcee righteously basked in all the praises sung to her for the accomplishment.
Will the Bardi Gang be accepting Swift’s token of congratulations? We think so.
