In the court of social media.

Not even 48 hours have passed since the arrest of St. Louis rap star Nelly for second degree rape charges, and the internet has already started up its social media investigation.

The “Dilemma” emcee was arrested on Saturday morning following a 21-year-old woman’s accusation that he raped her on his tour bus just hours before police caught up with him, according to TMZ. The site further reported that she described the sexual assault in specific detail, alleging that Nelly raped her without a condom and even offered her hush money afterward.

However, Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, reportedly shared with TMZ that he’s confident the evidence produced by an investigator assigned to the case will clear the 42-year-old’s name. Until then, however, it’s his word against hers, and the internet is digging up some questionable on stage moments from Nelly that seem to be working against his favor as the case unfolds.

  1. Following reports of his arrest, Nelly took to Twitter to defend his honor
  2. He also reminded them that despite the arrest, he hadn’t been officially charged with a crime
  3. But that doesn’t mean he’s free from interrogation of the internet after videos of his onstage moments with young girls have raised some eyebrows...
