RZA's Publicist Comes To His Defense After Azealia Banks' 'Drop Dead' Comment

He recently said the femcee's story was skewed.

RZA and Azealia Banks are currently at odds after the Wu-Tang member discredited the femcee's story of Russell Crowe allegedly spitting on her at a Hollywood party. Since then, the "212" rapper took to Snapchat, where she dragged RZA for his lack of support, and now, his publicist is firing back in his defense.

The drama all started when RZA stated in a recent Breakfast Club interview that the altercation between Banks and Crowe went down a bit differently, in his eyes.

"He spit at her. I saw that," he said. "He didn't spit on her. It was like, it almost got on me."

Banks, who claimed that the actor spit at her and used the N-word as a means to insult her, responded to the hip hop icon on Snapchat.

"RZA has to stop talking about me in the media. Until he is ready to apologize he can go back to sucking russell Crowe's d**k for invites to Hollywood parties," she said. "Nobody understands how bady I wanted to die the moment rza LIED and told the world I deserved to be spat... @RZA I HOPE YOU DROP DEAD."

Soon after Banks' comments spread on social media, RZA's publicist released a statement addressing the situation in hopes that it would officially be put to rest.

"The derogatory posts against my client RZA by Azealia Banks is unwarranted and beyond that — unbecomig," his publicist writes. "RZA, from the moment he met Ms. Banks, bet on her to win. So much so that when others felt she would be too much trouble to work with on the film Love Beats Rhyme, he disregarded what had been said and looked beyond her well documented controversies moving forward with securing her as his lead."

Specifically honing in on the incident at Crowe's gathering, the publicist claimed Banks pulling the "race card" was a cheap move.

"Her introduction to Russell Crowe at his private party resulted in Banks going on a salacious mission to disparage him and RZA, playing the race card and anything else she could," the publicist continues.

RZA's publicist clarified, though, that despite all that has happened, he will continue to support the "Chasing Time" MC in all of her musical endeavors.

"I represent RZA and found it necessary to state he would never have done what he has in support of Ms. Banks to put her in a position to be harmed, ridiculed, demeaned, or treated in an inhumane way," the publicist adds. "And still, he continues to support her."
