Following an entire anti-sexual assault movement targeting R. Kelly and activated by Hollywood’s most influential, a newly released audio clip recording his secret conversation with a 20-year-old woman isn’t helping his case.

According to TMZ, the unnamed woman is the same victim who filed a criminal complaint against the Pied Piper for infecting her with an STD after getting her high on drugs and alcohol. The audio doesn’t specify these accusations, but it’s clear that Kelly is safeguarding his words over the phone.

At the start of the clip, he asks the woman if she’s back “from where [she was] in [her] head.” When she answers yes, he tells her, “You know you have to prove that, right?”

He doesn’t tell her how she’ll need to do so, and some of his statements are inaudible throughout the clip. TMZ reports that she was trying to get him to admit to the above-mentioned violations against her that allegedly occurred when she was just 19 years old. Neither of the two make direct mention of the lawsuit or sexual assault, but their discussion clearly tiptoes around the subject matter when Kelly asks questions about if she’s alone and tells her that he’s in Chicago and would like to talk in person.

Elsewhere in the conversation, he also mentions, “Your father and mother don’t like me,” arguing that her parents pressured her to file the lawsuit and that he tried to “teach” her things that would make her a better person.

“You gotta admit that you never told me nothing,” he says at one point as he perpetually presses her about confessing to some wrongdoing. The conversation is cut short when he tells her that he doesn’t want to talk via phone any longer and reiterates that they can handle the rest when he sees her.

TMZ concludes that the woman’s lawyer released a statement amid her lawsuit that speaks to his alleged fouls against her and the other women Kelly has faced similar accusations against.

“We remain committed to stopping Kelly from continuing to abuse vulnerable black women,” TMZ reports of S. Lee Merritt’s statement, “and taking the necessary steps to hold him accountable for his actions in the past."
