Will Smith Is Returning To Rap, And You Should Probably Hide Your Favorite Rapper

See the fire freestyle he just laid down in the studio (along with your fav's hip-hop career.)

Before he was one of A-list Hollywood silver and big screen’s most-gifted, global film and television icon Will Smith was a Billboard chart-topping, platinum-selling rap artist.

And if you happen to be wondering whether his bars are still blazing in 2018, Will has an answer for you after dusting off the mic and spitting flames over a menacing beat for an impromptu recording session that’s certain to have your favorite rapper buckling at the knees.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air icon shared a clip from the freestyle via Instagram where he bursts through the studio doors ready for lights, camera, action—but on the mic instead of the movie screen this time.

“It’s 20 years of swag y’all just witnessed/ Let me remind everybody who Will Smith is,” he rhymes. “Rappers make it rain, let they money hit ya/ If I throw my money up, sh**, I’d probably kill a stripper.”

Will continues lyricizing over the menacing beat with a newfound braggadocio we haven’t seen from him in a while, demanding snoopers to “mind their damn business” when it comes to those divorce rumors with Jada Pinkett Smith, saluting his most iconic roles in blockbusters like Ali, and shouting out the whole Smith family clique.

The Fresh Prince is back with a vengeance, folks. But this time around, he’s gunning for a seat on that hip-hop throne.

Watch the full “messing around in the studio” video below where Will briefs fans on the inspiration behind his newly-energized rap return and spits his first freestyle after 13 years.
