Besides Suge Knight himself, there’s no one as affected by the current legal status of the former Death Row Records CEO than his own children, which his 22-year-old junior Suge Jacob Knight has openly shared on public platforms since his father’s 2015 incarceration.
The mother of one Suge Sr.’s five children and R&B songstress Michel’le stands in agreement with that as their daughter Bailei Knight comes to mind.
Last week, Suge was sentenced to 28 years in prison on manslaughter charges after the hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of record label head, Terry Carter. The “Something In My Heart” singer took to Instagram to share an update with fans in her first public statement on Suge’s legal adversity. And a tender throwback photo she used of Suge and young Balei to get her point across is enough to tug loose even the tightest of heart strings.
“From my heart I rarely post pictures of my children with their fathers but this is not about me,” she wrote in the caption. “My comfort being so close yet so far has and will from this day change things although that space for me has passed yet it hasn't for others I do understand.”
Which, according to her Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le biopic, turned domestically abusive at the hands of the Death Row CEO. The movie depicts this after she’d left another similarly violent relationship with Dr. Dre, whose tension with Suge has snowballed over the years.
For her daughter, however, and anyone else who needs it amid Suge’s sentencing outcome, Miche’le has just one message to pass along: “My comfort is too all.”
