Ciara Just Dropped A Major Bomb About Her Premarital Relationship With Russell Wilson
There’s good news and bad news for the ladies who have been begging for the “Level Up” diva Ciara’s prayer, otherwise known as the conversation fans are certain she had with God to send the R&B singer her loving, devoted and faithful husband of two years, Russell Wilson.
We’ll start with the bad news first: CiCi didn’t quite share the exact conversation she had with the man upstairs. But the good news is that she did reveal another gem about their premarital relationship that some women were curious about: her and the NFL quarterback star’s pact to abstain from sex before marriage, which she dished on for her new InStyle feature.
Ciara explained that it not only took a lot of prayer for them to stick to the premarital pact…
...but a lot of will, too. “It was hard,” she admitted. “I can’t lie.” Following a very stormy, very public breakup with Atlanta rap star and ex-fiance Future, with whom she shares her son, Future Zahir with, InStyle shares that she worked to recalibrate herself spiritually, mentally and emotionally. She described this process as “getting myself right.”
“If you want to get somewhere in life, you’ve got to have a compass,” she said. “You’ve got to know where you really want to get to. And my heart, soul, spirit, and mind just desired to be loved. To be truly loved the right way.”
She added that she ‘didn’t want to cry tears of hurt anymore’ ...
... and wanted to put an end to that cycle of hurt, too. Thus, along came Russ, who InStyle describes that she discovered the “unconditional, drama-free love that had eluded her for so many years” within. Ciara added that Russell is her “sounding board” of life as he stands behind her in every move, aspect and element of her life. “He’s got my back,” she said. “That’s an awesome feeling.”
