Kansas University Apologizes For Snoop Dogg’s Raunchy Pep Rally Performance

“We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening.”

Snoop Dogg is a legendary performer, but apparently not every setting is appropriate for Tha Doggfather to drop it like it’s hot.

During the Kansas University’s annual Late Night in the Phog, a preseason pep rally at the school’s Allen Fieldhouse in anticipation for the start of the Jayhawks’ basketball season, the hip hop icon strolled onto the court rapping while backup dancers were working stripper poles.

Apparently, KU wanted a more tame show and is now apologizing to the student body and the community for the raunchiness Snoop brought to the school.

"We made it clear to the entertainers’ managers that we expected a clean version of the show and took additional steps to communicate to our fans, including moving the artist to the final act of the evening, to ensure that no basketball activities would be missed if anyone did not want to stay for his show," Kansas Athletic Director Jeff Long said in a statement.

"I take full responsibility for not thoroughly vetting all the details of the performance and offer my personal apology to those who were offended,” Long continued in his statement. “We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening.”

However, video footage of Snoop’s set shows the crowd didn’t mind the turn up. He even had a money gun and made it rain! Apparently, despite the audience enthusiasm, that wasn’t what the athletics department was hoping for.
