Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Summer Walker And More Make Forbes' 'Class of 2020 30 Under 30'

Twelve spots were crowned to the Black excellence community.

The recognition for millennial excellence keeps on coming thanks to the annual Forbes  "30 Under 30" list, which announced its “top-performing entrepreneurs" going into 2020.

After careful evaluations of more than 15,000 nominees, the illustrious committee has narrowed it down to “600 revolutionaries in 20 industries changing the course  - and the face- of business and society,” as stated by the mag.

  1. Among those who have made the top-charting list for the music industry community of color include Megan Thee Stallion, Da Baby, Summer Walker, Tierra Whack, Teyana Taylor, Tyler, The Creator, Normani, Lil Nas X and Chloe and Halle Bailey. Songwriter Nija Charles, manager of Isla Management Simon Gebrelul, and agent of Creative Arts Agency Joseph Harris, also made the list.

  2. Hot Girl Meg, 24, was applauded for her seven million monthly listeners on Spotify in addition to her 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards for Hot Ticket Performer and Best Mixtape. The Houston native’s project Fever also climbed to No. 5 on the U.S. rap charts, according to Forbes.

    DaBaby, 27, was spotlighted for his debut album, Baby on Baby, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200. Forbes reports that the rapper has racked up nearly six figures per city since he’s been on tour. Summer Walker, 23, appeared at No. 2 on Billboard’s October chart with her first studio album, Over It. The 18-track play features Forbes' 30 under 30 alum Bryson Tiller and Jhene Aiko. She has sold over 75,000 tickets since being on the road this fall, per the outlet, making over $3 million in sales. 

  3. Normani, 23, was named as the Pop Star of a New Generation, the Fifth Harmony Alumna successful broke into the solo industry, collaborating with Khalid, Sam Smith and Calvin Harris. Her single “Motivation” hit Billboards Hot 100 at No. 33, making it her third solo record to hit the Top 40 charts, other tracks including “Love Lies” featuring Khalid, peaking at No. 9, and “Dancing With a Stranger” featuring Sam Smith, peaking at No. 7.
