Omarion Reveals The Status Of His Relationship With Lil Fizz Following Split From Apryl Jones
One of the most memorable millennial moments in recent history happened when R&B quartet B2K revealed that they had reunited and consequently announced their Millenium Tour in honor of the group’s inception 20 years ago.
However, the tour soon became marred by the ensuing controversy between members Omarion and Lil Fizz. Public news unraveled that Fizz was dating O’s former girlfriend and the mother of his children, Apryl Jones. After months of silence, O opened up to ESSENCE where he touched on his personal feelings on the matter: “I could be acting a damn fool right now, but is that the best thing to do?” he said at the time.
In his latest interview, he stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood where he spoke on where he stands with the rest of B2K. The Millennium Tour will return this spring, but sans B2K, who was notably not listed among the lineup for the 2020 leg of the multi-million dollar grossing tour. When asked which member he was closest to in the group, O also revealed that he hasn’t really kept in touch with his group mates since the first tour. He shared that everybody went their separate ways after the first leg of the tour.
“But what I want to say is we share something together with everyone and we shared it all together and, to me, that should be honored,” he noted. “That is the highlight and the thing we were all able to kind of bond with and create a great, strong relationship with. I can’t take that back. I will always honor and respect that aspect of that period.”
The radio veteran then asked O whether he had a relationship with Fizz in light of their underlying issue. “I don’t have a relationship with Fizz,” O said. However, he is open to talking out their issues sometime in the future when the moment presents itself. “I don’t know when that is but there should be an opportunity for us,” he shared.
“Naturally and organically,” Big Boy interjects.
“Yeah,” O continued, adding “because it’s such a question for people so it kind of creates this layer of I don’t know, you know what I mean?”
O then revealed that he found out about Fizz and Apryl while on tour. “A birdie just kind of floated the info to me and that was kind of it,” he explained. However, Omarion does want to make one thing clear.
“What me and Apryl had is what me and Apryl had. We created something really beautiful and we gave something truly beautiful to each other that’s really irreplaceable,” he continued. “So at the end of the day, even though I have public issues, I wish no ill intent or malice towards anyone.” O added that it did feel weird to him that many people were trying to project their own understanding onto the situation or tell him how he should handle it.
However, he’s not bothered by it.
“Especially because people assume that nothing is being done,” he said with a smile and left it at that.
