Tekashi 6ix9ine Has Dropped His First Post-Prison Single

The rapper is addressing his reputation as a “snitch.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine is back with his first piece of new music after his release from prison amid the coronavirus.

  • Back in April, Tekashi was granted an early release after a judge ruled his asthma made him particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus. He still has to serve out the remainder of his sentence from home confinement, but the Brooklyn rapper hasn’t missed a beat. He is starting back up with his antics on social media and has clearly been working on music.

On Friday (May 8), He dropped the new song “GOOBA” with a music video. In his usual fashion, it’s drenched in his trademark rainbow colors. The visual features Tekashi with a gaggle of twerking video vixens representing every color of the rainbow in what appears to be his basement. The rapper makes it loud and clear how he feels about his “snitching” reputation that has stuck to him since his highly-publicized federal racketeering trial where he testified against the Nine Trey Blood gang members.

N****s tweetin’ ‘bout me, got me trendin’, b***h you big sad / Tell me how I ratted, came home to a big bag,” he raps.

  • The first sign of the release cropped up, after Tekashi put his face on a billboard in the middle of Times Square on Thursday (May 7), per Complex. In less than 24 hours, GOOBA” dropped. This is his first release since 2018's DUMMY BOY, according to Pitchfork.
