Floyd Mayweather Shares Odd Training Diet

The undefeated boxer says, “soda energizes.”

Many athletes drink water or Gatorade to stay hydrated. Not Floyd Mayweather.

Speaking to Yahoo! Sports the boxer, who has a 40-0 record and 25 knockouts, says, "While people drink water, I drink soda.”

His personal chef explains that although she cooks two meals five days a week for the boxer and only uses organic vegetables and grass-fed meats, she admits that the boxer, who’s won “Fighter of the Year” twice, may call her up at five in the morning asking for a hot dog. She says sugar and candy are his favorite things to eat, even when he trains.

The CEO of Mayweather Promotions agrees, explaining the boxer has no problem eating Popeyes or Burger King. While this diet is not what trainers recommend, his CEO says the 34-year-old boxing champ “has an unbelievable metabolism … [He] has a great work ethic so he’s entitled to do whatever he does if it works.”

Vibe.com reports that Mayweather recently stepped into the studio with friend 50 Cent to record a track called “Champion.” The single features Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, Junior Reid and French Montana.

The undefeated Super Welterweight will lace up his gloves against Victor Ortiz in Las Vegas Saturday, September 17.
