Tracy Morgan is in "critical but stable condition" several days after a massive, six-vehicle crash in New Jersey that killed one and seriously injured others, his rep reported on Monday. 
Morgan has fianceé Megan Wollover “at his side,” adds the rep, who stresses that rumors that the 30 Rock star is facing an amputation of his leg are not true.

“The concern for his well-being has been overwhelming, but Megan Wollover is respectfully asking that the media await official word through these channels before speculating (mostly inaccurately) on his condition,” the rep continues. “Rumors about amputating his leg are completely fabricated. As we shared yesterday, Tracy had surgery on his broken leg.”

Morgan suffered several broken bones as a result of the fatal accident, and was in critical condition when he arrived at a local hospital following the crash. He has since become responsive and has stabilized.

“We are working closely with the incredible staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to share information when it is available,” the rep continues. “This recovery will be arduous and we hope that you can be patient during this difficult time.”

The driver charged with causing the six car pileup, Walmart trucker Kevin Roper, ardently denies being under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the accident. A remorseful Roper tweeted on Tuesday, "I wish it was me and I can't express how horrible I feel."
He adds that the media seems to be searching for a scapegoat for the accident "because a famous person was involved."
Meanwhile, of all the people wishing Morgan well for his recovery, his mother is the one who can't get through. 

Alicia Warden, Morgan's estranged mother, told TMZ on Tuesday that Wollover had turned her away from his hospital room on Saturday. Warden told the site she'd learned about the early-morning accident from TV news. 

She said she was allowed in for about five minutes Sunday when Morgan was unconscious. "I wanted to pray over him and couldn’t do that because so many people were in the room," she said. Morgan has talked in the past about his estranged relationship with his mother, who he once said he hadn't seen in 11 years.
