Driver Who Caused Collision With the Rock's Mother Charged With DUI

Woman was also on the run from police, sheriff says.

The woman who crashed her car into and nearly killed Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson's mother and cousin will soon be brought to justice. The alleged drunk driver, who caused a head-on collision with the SUV containing Johnson's family, has been charged with a DUI.
What's more, the woman was in the midst of a police chase and had run a red light just moments before the collision, TMZ reports. According to the local sheriff, an officer was attempting a traffic stop when the woman decided to flee the scene, running a red light. Police were in pursuit of the woman when the accident occurred.

The as-yet-unnamed woman was hospitalized with facial injuries, and the Rock's mother, Ata Maivia-Johnson, and cousin Lina Fanene were also hospitalized. Thankfully, there were no fatalities.
Johnson posted a picture to Instagram of the grisly crash along with a note expressing his gratitude that the lives of his family members were spared. "Hug your family tighter," he advised his fans.
