Dame Dash stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning and as usual had no shortage of words.
The conversation got heated as Dash pushed his entrepreneurial views on the show's hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee. Envy, in particular, did not agree with the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder's stance on ownership and the discussion went from 0 to 100 real quick.
“If a man doesn’t want to be a boss, then he’s not a real man," Dash argued. "All these so called moguls you’re talking about, you tell me one who put their own dough up. You’re only the boss if you put up your own money. If you don’t put up your own money, I don’t care how much someone gives you, you’re nothing but a supervisor. It’s not yours.”
Obviously there are many ways on the road to wealth, but Dame wasn’t impressed by the shares of stock Envy holds in the Clear Channel-owned Power 105. The Harlem-bred entrepreneur opened up his Hustler 101 handbook to break down his thinking.
“If your son needs a job, can you give it to him?" he asked rhetorically. "No. If your son needs some cash flow out the bank can he get it? No. You don’t own this then. It’s not yours. I’m not going to fight for something I don’t own.”
