Licking food intended to be sold to others is pretty disgusting, so many were surprised to find pop sensation Ariana Grande allegedly doing just that in a video that recently went viral. Things have now taken a serious turn, according to the Associated Press, the police are looking into the situation.

They've been collaborating with public health officials from Riverside County to further investigate the singer's actions, which allegedly took place at Wolfree Donuts, a famous doughnut spot in Southern California.

The news first got out when TMZ leaked a clip of the "Break Free" performer and a male backup dancer — who is rumored to be her new boyfriend — licking a few doughnuts that were lying on a tray on the shop's display counter. The story would likely be squashed if it was proven that she bought the doughtnuts she licked, but, according to cashier Mayra Solis, she didn't spend a dime. She even went on to tell the Associated Press that Grande "was really rude" during her visit.

Though Grande did apologize for saying that she hated America in the video, she didn't mention anything about licking the pastries.
