Black Eyed Peas Are Back With 'Yesterday'

These samples should sound familiar.

Black Eyed Peas haven’t released an album since The Beginning in 2010, but that’s about to change.

Just a few hours ago, frontman will.i.am was on Beats 1 talking with Zane Lowe and he premiered their new song called “Yesterday.” It deviates away from their pop sound to deliver a classic hip hop track that takes familiar samples from Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s “T.R.O.Y.” or Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.” The message behind it is that digging in the crates and finding dope samples is a culture that’s lost in hip hop today, and Black Eyed Peas want to remind us that it’s still alive and well.

The video also premiered on Apple Music, which you can check out over here.
