Former NBA center Marcus Camby had his Thanksgiving ruined this year after it was learned that his 9-year-old nephew passed away on his property.
The body of Marcus McGhee was found in an L-shaped lake on Camby’s Houston-area estate after the child went missing. McGhee, who was autistic, spent the holiday with his uncle, among other family members, according to the site Chron.
Pearland Police Lieutenant Onesimo Lopez believes the boy died around 7 am yesterday morning (November 26). Originally, McGhee had been playing with the other kids at the house. He wasn’t noticed missing until after 4 pm. That’s when they, assisted by police, began their search.
A security camera on the property captured young Marcus leaving the home out of the side door. No signs of foul play presented themselves upon police finding the body.
A vigil was held Saturday night at the Pearland Dad’s Club. Our thoughts are with Marcus Camby and his family during this difficult time.
