During a meeting with lawmakers in the Oval Office on Thursday, President Trump said the U.S. does not need anymore immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador, or referred to African nations, which he referred to as "shithole countries."
Despite the egregious and obvious bigotry present in the comment, immigrants from those countries are standing up to the president with grace and proving that people from "shithole countries" are our future change makers.
Although the president has denied making the comment, several sources have confirmed to CNN and other news outlets that the statement was made. One of the worst things about the comment is that now people are associating people from Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as immigrants from "shithole countries."
Despite these problematic associations, immigrants from these countries recently took to Twitter to prove that immigrants from these countries are positively contributing to America.
