2018 has just begun and it’s already giving us some pretty heavy headaches.
Just when we thought we left (political commentator?) Tomi Lahren in 2017, she’s still reminding us that she’s a thing, and an annoying one at that.
Lahren recently took to her Instagram Live story to post a selfie video of her rapping along to 21 Savage’s “Bank Account” in her car.
The trash interpretation of this is that she’s subliminally trying to extend somewhat of an olive branch to the African American community.
The correct take is that she remains a hater of Black people. Like, what makes this so strange is that she’s previously criticized hip-hop of a much lesser tone. 21 Savage fam? I mean we’re fans but he’s not exactly positivity rap.
Luckily, Twitter didn’t accept Tomi’s Black card application. Some pointed out that while white people like to criticize African Americans, they’ll still love their music and culture.
Tomi Lahren rapping along to 21 Savage is the embodiment of the criticism that Americans love black culture but hate black people— Ashley (@ashburns94) January 12, 2018
The same ppl slandering Cari Champion slander, probably thought Tomi Lahren was "for the culture" after she was bumping 21 Savage. pic.twitter.com/qdpJ7zTJfp— Dimeji Babalola (@dimejibabalola) January 13, 2018
Others called out the hypocricy of her listening to 21 while trashing hip-hop in so many other instances.
black men lusting over Tomi Lahren because sang along to a 21 Savage song 🤦🏾♀️but yet her whole career is based off of ignorant comments about y’all being gunned down in the streets by police 🤦🏾♀️ pic.twitter.com/vYkvkOBu0o— Jade(d) (@songsaboutjade) January 12, 2018
Some of you black dudes are idiots. Ya'll all on Tomi Lahren because she knows a 21 Savage song? If George Zimmerman listened to Kendrick Lamar, would you give him a pass?— B-Ball Guru (@northcyde) January 12, 2018
Some people simply wanted 21 Savage to respond, in a non-supportive way...
21 Savage gotta drop a diss track about Tomi Lahren now.— Frosty the Snow Mayne (@_bennythejet) January 12, 2018
Hopefully this backlash will teach her something.
For those supporting her for this, remember what she thinks about you.
