While most politicians often feel the need to put on a public persona, the mayor of Baltimore let her authentic self shine when talking about city rats. 

During a local news segment on the demoltion of abandoned row homes in Baltimore City, Mayor Catherine Pugh slipped up and let her true feelings out. 

"We need to take all this s**t down," Pugh can be heard saying about the abandoned spaces. 

As the news segment closes, the anchor takes a pause, and you can hear Pugh say, "Ew, you can smell the rats."

While no one is laughing at the issues facing the city of Baltimore, people could not help but laugh at Mayor Pugh. 

In addition to the hundreds of crying laughing emojis posted in the comment section, people also commended the mayor for being real. 

"She ain't about to put on a white persona because of her position, she said what she said," commented one Instgram user. 

"She looks like every fed up black grandmother lol," commented another. 

At the end of the day, "at least she kept it real," as one person wrote.
