The Top Five Must-See Moments From Cardi B And Bernie Sanders Interview

These highlights will have everyone talking.

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders has released his 12-minute interview with hip-hop superstar Cardi B, and it is full of gems.

The “Press” rapper’s interview with Sanders is part of his 2020 presidential campaign. Weeks ago, the Grammy Award winner asked fans to submit questions they wanted her to ask the Vermont senator.

It’s worth watching the whole interview, but here are the biggest highlights:

  1. Addressing Police Brutality Against Black Men And Women

“Obviously we need to end all forms of racism in this country from Donald Trump down to the local police department… one out of four young Black men in this country end up in the criminal justice system… jail… parole… probation.”

Sanders also believes police departments should look like the communities they serve, and not like an “oppressive army.”

“If a police officer kills somebody, that killing must be investigated by the United States Department of Justice.”

  2. Tackling DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)

He made a “promise” to Cardi, explaining that despite Trump ending the DACA program, Sanders proclaimed he will not only restore the program, but expand it, within the first week of his presidency.

  3. Free Universal Healthcare For All

Referencing Canada, Norway, Sweden and other countries, he described free healthcare as a human right.

The 77-year-old wants to demolish America’s current healthcare system that profits off of sickness, making insurance and drug companies billions.

Monthly premiums, co-payments, and deductibles will be a memory if he’s elected.

  4. Raising Employment Wages

Calling $9 hourly wages as “starvation wages,” he addressed there may be an increase of American jobs, but the pay requires citizens to juggle multiple jobs just to make ends meet.

He wants to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

  5. Forgiving Student Loan Debt

With his plan, he wants anyone who desires a college education to attend, regardless of their income, making all public colleges and universities free.

And for the existing student debt? Cancelled, using a modest Wall Street tax to eliminate the debt.
