To fans, friends and the CFDA, Kim Kardashian West has been a major influence as a businesswoman, reality TV star, mother and in the world of fashion. Kim was shocked she won the CFDA honor but others don’t believe she deserved the award at all. Models Winnie Harlow and Adwoa Aboah had some choice words debating Kim K’s influencer status.                                                             

On Monday, June 4, Kim Kardashian West became the first recipient of the Influencer Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards. Other winners at the 2018 awards included fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell, Donatella Versace and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

The drama unfolded when Winnie Harlow took to Instagram to congratulate Kim on what Winnie believed to be a highly deserved win. Here’s what she posted:

However, British fashion model and friend, Adwoa was not here for Winnie’s praise or Kim winning the award at all. Check out Adwoa’s response where she threw some serious shade at Kim:

Winnie was quick to come to Kim’s defense writing, “We've all been up against all kinds in these industries. I may not agree with everything anyone does but I show love where I feel it’s due. And a woman being herself against everything is admirable. I’ve done dumb things and learned to correct because we're all human. I’m still beat up for things and I understand how it feels. I do think she inspires others to be themselves...maybe I just want to see the best in people. There are negatives to everything but... she's a great human being."

Hours after the argument, Kim thanked Winnie and ignored the back-and-forth between the two models in the comment section.

Kim wrote, “This is the sweetest message! I appreciate it so much! And you have helped me ißn more ways than you know. Love you!”

While some comments by Instagram users offered support to Kim Kardashian, others defended Adwoa’s point that Kim is not a positive influence. What y’all have to say BET Fam? Team #Winnie or team #Adwoa?
