Awards season officially kicked off tonight (Sunday Jan.5th) with the 77th annual Golden Globes awards. It's the first award show of 2020, so we're excited to see who takes home not only the big, but also who wins best dressed of the night!
As Hollywood's biggest stars arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, we could not help but admire all the #BlackExcellence that graced the red carpet. Cynthia Erivo was nominated for best actress for her coveted role in "Harriet," and with her custom Thom Browne gown, it's only right she made our list of best dressed. Cynthia arrived in a black, swarovski crystal beaded, off-the-shoulder gown, while our favorite fashion star, Billy Porter wowed us in a custom white, 6-foot long feather tuxedo train by Alex Vanash. Billy revealed that his look took 3-months to design and the feathers zip-off!
You can always expect black Hollywood to bring it when it comes to the clothes, and tonight was no different. As the cameras flashed on their beautiful melanin skin, these celebrities stopped to strike a pose in their custom-made looks. The Golden Globes are the first major fashion event of the decade and these Black stars didn't come to play!
