Go Red for Women - On Feb. 3, 2012, you may see a sea of red in your office or at your school thanks to the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Day, a national campaign aimed at raising awareness of heart disease in women. Sadly, African-American women are more likely to die from heart disease than women of other races, which makes it all the more urgent that Black women be better informed. Record-High Temps - Last week, the nation saw sizzling record high temperatures, characterized by high humidity and higher-than-usual nighttime temperatures. On Friday, New York City hit 99 degrees, and the Weather Channel reported that it felt like 111 degrees because of the humidity.
