Kanye West’s ‘Awesome’ Ode to Kim Kardashian Leaks
The world first heard a snippet of "Awesome," Kanye West's ode to his wife, Kim Kardashian, during the 2013 Met Gala and now, two years later, the song has leaked in full.
The heavily auto-tuned track surfaced online overnight and social media went into a frenzy, criticizing the love song's corny lyrics and over-produced vocals. According to Billboard, all traces of 'Ye have been "stripped out," making it one of his most underwhelming records to date. Though his signature flare is missing throughout the track, his legendary ego remains, with the rapper even acknowledging himself as "awesome" a few times in the song.
One of the most memorable lyrics reads, "'Cause baby you're awesome / so awesome / you look too good to be at work, you feel too good to ever hurt / I hope you ready for tonight / I'm gonna cook, you'll be dessert."
Yeezy has been busy preparing his upcoming album release, So Help Me God. To date, he has performed at the Grammys with Rihanna and Paul McCartney, and the BRIT Awards, and has debuted new music in the U.K. and other parts of Europe. While no official track list has been released for the new album, it is unclear whether "Awesome" will make the final cut.
