Suge Knight Makes A Plea In The Deadly Hit-And-Run Case

He was immediately sentenced.

Death Row Records founder Suge Knight entered a plea in the 2015 deadly hit-and-run murder case. The former music mogul was sentenced immediately after entering a plea.

Knight was sentenced to 28-years in prison after issuing a no contest plea to voluntary manslaughter on Thursday (Sept 20).

According to TMZ, he will reportedly receive three and a half years considered as time served for the time he spent awaiting trial. Knight will also serve three years on parole upon his release from prison.

Suge Knight's controversial history and reputation was considered during sentencing. Per TMZ, Knight's 1997 felony conviction played a role in the length of his sentence along with the fact that the 2015 hit-and-run was deemed a "serious and violent" felony, adding on an additional five years to his sentence. He reportedly received an additional year on his sentence because he truck was considered a deadly weapon.

He was originally facing life in prison for the January 2015 hit-and-run death of Terry Carter. Suge Knight was captured on camera reversing and hitting one man, identified as Cle “Bone” Sloan, and then driving forward over Carter, who ultimately died from his injuries.
