In the interview, Michelle Obama explained why she went to bed early on the election night that brought grief to many
“I went to bed. I don’t like to watch the political discourse; I never have,” Obama told People, adding of her husband, “I barely did with him.”

The first lady then revealed, 'Anything that I felt about the election I said and I stand by.'
She then continued to explain that after she and her husband did what they could, they had to leave the decision to the people.
“Once you do what you can do, then the rest is easy. It was in the hands of the American people," Obama added.
Although she has in the past criticized Donald Trump, Michelle Obama is prepared to help with the white house transition
“This is our democracy, and this is how it works,” she told People. “We are ready to work with the next administration and make sure they are as successful as they can be. Because that’s what’s best for this country.”
