Tyrese Dedicated 'Let's Get It On' To His Daughter And The Internet Has Questions

Umm, does he not know what the song is about?

Tyrese must be having some sort of crisis.

Ever since his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, filed a restraining order against the star, alleging that he physically abused their 10-year-old daughter Shayla, Tyrese has been going out of his way show that he loves his child. Nothing is wrong with a father showing affection for his daughter, but his execution has fallen rather short. In his latest stunt, the Fast & Furious actor dedicated Marvin Gaye’s extremely sexual classic “Let’s Get It On” to Shayla during one of his live shows.

In video footage taken during the concert, Tyrese is heard dedicating his next track to his tween daughter. “Maybe my daughter will know how much I love her… I’m going to dedicate what I’m about to say to my baby, OK?,” Tyrese said. Seconds later, the singer dove into the 1973 track. While his vocals were on point, many people questioned the song choice due to its sexual implications and content.

This, unfortunately, isn’t Tyrese’s first ill-advised maneuver to get in the good graces of his daughter. After a judge granted a temporary restraining order against Tyrese, the singer ordered a plane to fly over Shayla’s school with a banner that read: “No matter what, daddy loves you, Shayla.” He also was spotted sporting a hoodie that read “Shayla Rocks!” on it.

Despite his various attempts, Tyrese, is only allowed to have six-hour monitored visits with his daughter. Tyrese and Norma will reportedly appear in court this week, as the singer’s ex-wife is gunning for a permanent restraining order, TMZ reports. While the verdict is still out on whether the judge will rule against Tyrese, the latest footage doesn’t exactly help his case.
