Report: Fetty Wap Investigated in Assault of New Jersey ShopRite Cashier

Victim claims "Trap Queen" rapper was among group who attacked him at work.

New Jersey police are investigating whether or not Fetty Wap was involved in an assault on a 19-year-old cashier last Friday (July 10), XXL reports. The alleged victim has not been identified, but told police that one of four people who attacked him during his shift at a Paramus, N.J., ShopRite, could have been the “Trap Queen” spitter.

The employee sustained minimal bruising and did not want to press charges, although he was informed that he is able to do so in the future.

According to NewJersey.com, a woman slapped the employee first thinking he insulted her, before three others joined in the altercation.

The fight was caught on tape, and police are still working to identify those involved. However, authorities need additional proof besides the victim’s account, footage from the store’s surveillance camera, and a witness’s cell phone video. “Maybe it looks like him,” said Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg of the footage. “We can’t go by, 'Uh, it looks like him.' We need more evidence than that.”

Fetty, whose birth name is Willie Maxwell II, is a native of Paterson, N.J. A request for comment from the 25-year-old rapper's camp was not returned.
