Jacquees Called Keith Sweat "The King From Back In The Day," And He Looked Pissed...

The R&Beef continues.

Jacquees, the lead instigator of the "king of R&B" debate, refuses to let the internet rivalry cease. Since he boldly claimed the throne “for [his] generation” last week, the internet, alongside soulful crooners from all eras, has chimed in with several opinions and light-hearted trolling. The “B.E.D.” singer tossed a shady jab at Tank recently, but in a swift turn of events, he pissed off Keith Sweat.

This past weekend, at the V-103 WinterFest, TMZ was gearing up to ask the “Make It Last Forever” singer about his thoughts on the viral debate until Jacquees heard the word “king” and allowed himself to answer the question instead. “I’m the king,” the 4275 singer declared as Keith smirked in annoyance.

“This the king from back then. I’m the king for right now. This is Big Sweat,” he continued.

  • The “Nobody crooner” has a simple response: “I’m still getting that bag. I don’t know what he talking bout”

If looks could kill, we’re sure the Cash Money signee would’ve burst into smithereens. The interviewer then asked if the legendary singer would pass the torch, and a member of his team stated, “ain’t no torch to pass.” Yikes.

  • The internet was set ablaze yet again over the daring statement

  • However, things were quickly pacified after a few words with famed host Big Tigger

Jacquees reiterated his stance on the throne and stated that he and Keith Sweat "had got into an argument." As seen above, it was more of a suppressed confrontation. Amid Jacquees sensing the anger the "Nobody" crooner built up, he "straightened things out."

The 24-year-old ran up on Sweat after hearing his newly coined buzzword, but apologized for the situation. Luckily, they were all able to laugh it off. In the spirit of "keeping it 100," Sweat did say they're all kings of R&B, but "never heard Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass or nobody talking bout who was the king."

Jacquees' fired back to say, "they didn't have the internet."
