Twitter Tried To Blame Beyonce For Beto’s Loss Even Though Over 50% Of White Women Voted For Cruz

"Blaming Beyoncé on Twitter but too afraid to confront your racist aunt at Thanksgiving smh that's sad."

Hours before the polls closed in Texas on Tuesday, Beyoncé posted an endorsement of Democratic Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke to Instagram. Although her support for Beto, who lost to incumbent Ted Cruz, was appreciated, some people on Twitter tried to roast Beyoncé for not sharing her views sooner; however, they were quickly reminded who really put Cruz back in office.

In her endorsement post, the Houston native was dressed in all black and wearing a matching “Beto for Senate” ball cap.

“We can’t voice our frustrations and complain about what’s wrong without voting and exercising our power to make it right,” she wrote. “We need you.”

While she received much applause for her post, some people tweeted that she could have dropped the photo a little sooner.

“You have such a huge, influential voice and you wait until Election Day to post this?!” one fan commented. “Beto needed you sooner. Maybe you could’ve actually made a difference.”

Although some of the tweets may have been made in jest, people used it as an opportunity to let folks know that O’Rourke was beat out by Republican incumbent Sen. Cruz because 60 percent of white women voted for Ted.
