Lil Wayne's Manager Reveals His Status Following Seizure

“This might not be the last time you see Lil Wayne having a seizure.”

Since Young Money rap monarch Lil Wayne’s seizure scare that landed him in the hospital on Tuesday (September 5), there’s some sense of relief for fans after his closest relatives have confirmed his recovery status.

But despite doctors insisting that Weezy take it easy during that recuperation, Weezy’s longtime Young Money affiliate and manager, Cortez Bryant, says that Weezy is following the premise of his 2015 mixtape single: “No Days Off.”

TMZ caught up with Bryant to ask how Weezy is doing and to check in on the status of his epilepsy, the condition that previous reports held was responsible for the seizure.

Bryant confirmed that Weezy is OK, but he’s a “workaholic” who doesn’t plan on cutting back on his workload despite everyone suggesting that he ease up a little — including Bryant. As for Wayne’s epilepsy, he added, it unfortunately might turn out to be a longstanding health challenge for him.

“That’s something we know we’re going to have to deal with for the rest of his life,” Bryant said.

But anyone who truly knows Weezy knows that no hospital stint and certainly no disease will keep the No Ceilings rap star from his studio and label leader duties. The reporter also mentioned purple drank, also known as “lean,” the prescription-strength drug notoriously recognized throughout hip-hop in recent years. Rumors swirled that the narcotic-infused beverage was the real cause behind Wayne’s seizure, and of course, TMZ couldn’t help but probe Bryant about it.

Bryant, however, shut the claims down properly, assuring that lean was in no way connected to the health hiccup. Epilepsy is also an illness that brings about recurring episodes, so Weezy’s history of seizures may not cease anytime soon either, Bryant concluded.

“He’s an epileptic — it’s a disease that he has to deal with,” Bryant stated. “It’s a reality that this might not be the last time you see Lil Wayne having a seizure.”

Either way, we’re just happy to know that Lil Tunechi is returning back to good health and hoping for better health in the future.
