Mystikal Begins 90-Day Sentence

Mystikal rapper checked into Louisiana jail.

New Orleans-based rapper Mystikal arrived at a Louisiana jail today to submit himself into custody. According to TMZ, the 41-year-old rap star will finish out the rest of a 90-day sentence for the domestic abuse charge following a dispute with an ex-girlfriend in February. Although the charges are unclear, the judge says it was a violation of his probation.
Mystikal spent six years in prison for sexual battery and extortion after forcing his hairstylist to perform oral sex on him while his two bodyguards filmed it. The NOLA MC reportedly made her do it because he thought she had stolen $80,000 in checks from him. The video tape of the incident was later found, forcing Mystikal to confess to the crime. He was released from prison in 2010.
Mystikal, who signed to Cash Money Records last year, gained popularity back in the late '90s as an artist signed to Master P's successful No Limit Records. In 2000, he released the hit single "Shake It Fast," produced by the Neptunes.
The former No Limit rapper already served nine days in prison immediately after his arrest, so he is expected to serve only the remaining 81 days now.
