An Uber Driver Drove for 10 Hours Straight to get Jeezy to his Baltimore Show

With canceled flights, terrible weather, a leaking fuel tank, Jeezy still managed to make it to the 9th stop on his 20th Anniversary Tour with the help of his Uber driver.

Not all heroes wear capes, according to Jeezy, some work for Uber and will drive for 10 hours straight to ensure his fans aren't disappointed.

On Monday, August 1, Jeezy was set to perform at The Lyric in Baltimore for the ninth stop on his TM:101 Live 20th Anniversary Tour. However, the “Get Ya Mind Right” rapper woke up to the news that he may not be able to make that tour stop due to weather conditions. He and his team opted instead to drive. On the drive, only two hours in, Jeezy’s car became inoperable due to a punctured fuel tank. Due to the inclement weather, attempts to secure a private car were also foiled.

With no other options, and being the consummate artist and performer, Jeezy did not want to risk another cancellation, so he opted for the ride-sharing app Uber.

Jeezy shared this on Instagram: “Next, we called an Uber to take us to a rental car location at the airport. When the Uber driver arrived, he quickly loaded our bags and sped off. Eight minutes into the ride, I turned to him and said, “Hey, we need to go to Baltimore. “I asked how much he’d charge to take us there, and after a moment of consideration, he replied, “Let me think about it.”

“I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it. Like [a] real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving. Ten hours later, we arrived in Baltimore just ten minutes before showtime! I told him he made a lot of people happy tonight! Gave him a Snowman Tee and told him he was my guest for the show tonight!”

According to Complex, Tanner the Uber driver was Jeezy’s guest at the Baltimore show that he and his team made it to with just 10 minutes to spare before the rapper was set to appear on stage.

"Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!"
