Busta Rhymes Responds to ‘Stay Black’ Remark With Heated Reality Check
Busta Rhymes had little patience for disrespect outside a Miami event over the weekend, and he made sure that message was loud and clear.
A fan appeared to greet Busta with the N-word, prompting an immediate and firm response from the Brooklyn native.
“I’m nobody’s f*cing n*gga,” he said bluntly.
As the New York native prepared to enter the venue, things escalated yet again, this time with the cameraman filming the encounter.
The man called out “Stay Black” as Busta walked by, a phrase he claimed was his slogan.
That, too, struck a nerve.
“So what else I’m supposed to be? You a clown now too?”
The producer fired back.
“F*ck you mean ‘Stay Black’? I don’t know that slogan. Don’t say it to me. I’m not joking with you.”
An increasingly heated exchange followed, with Busta repeatedly warning the cameraman to stop talking and stop playing with him before using a gay slur to insult the agitator.
At one point, the situation appeared close to turning physical before the interaction ended.
This isn’t the only incident that occurred over the weekend, as the Grammy-nominated rapper checked a TikToker for purposely confusing him with Tracy Morgan, according to a report by BET.com.
The rapper was making his way through the Miami event, taking photos and showing love, when a young creator tried to flip the vibe with a joke that didn’t land.
Busta shut it down immediately.
What followed was a calm but unmistakably firm reality check. The “Blockbusta” reminded him that not every interaction is a punchline and not everyone is required to laugh along.
