Busta Rhymes Checks Content Creator After 'Tracy Morgan' Joke at Art Basel

The New York rapper questioned the kid on camera and turned the encounter into a lesson on respect while continuing his personal journey toward better health and balance.

Busta Rhymes had a moment at Art Basel that quickly reminded a young content creator that every interaction with a legend is not a playground. The rapper was moving through the Miami event, taking photos and showing love, when a kid decided to change the mood with a joke that fell flat. As they posed for a picture, the creator pointed at Busta and called him Tracy Morgan. The line came off like a cheap attempt to go viral, and Busta shut it down right away.

In the video shared by TMZ, you can see Busta’s face shift as soon as he hears the name. His smile drops, and he looks straight at the kid, asking him to repeat what he said. The creator tries to play it casually while his friend keeps recording, but Busta motions for the camera to be lowered and starts asking direct questions. He wants to know why the kid said it and what he meant by it. The creator claims people around him were already saying Tracy, and he just followed along. Busta doesn’t accept that explanation and reminds him that no one else said anything. He points out that the kid chose that moment to try something that didn’t carry respect for someone giving him time.

The clip continues with Busta giving the creator a firm reality check. He keeps his cool but makes it clear that not every encounter is a joke and not every person is going to laugh along. It turns into a teachable moment about boundaries and basic respect.

Outside of that viral interaction, Busta has been in a reflective space. He recently spoke about getting his health back on track after gaining weight during the pandemic. Pharrell and Swizz Beatz stepped in with support, guidance, and real conversations that pushed him to reset. He credits them with helping him return to a place of balance and clarity.
