EXCLUSIVE: LightSkinKeisha Explains Why Coca Vango Is Not Only Her Fiancé, But Also Her Bestie!
LightSkinKeisha is opening up about her relationship with rapper Coca Vango, plus dishing on her wedding plans! While chatting with the Atlanta-born rapper, it was clear she was not only still on the high of dropping her latest singles, but also relishing in the reality that she’s going to be getting married to her “bestie.”
“Honestly, it was surreal because everything just happened so fast,” Keisha shares with BET Lifestyle about the moment she unknowingly walked into her own engagement party. “It was a surprise engagement, I didn't even know what was going on. They made it seem like it was an event for a business or whatever.”
When she arrived into a room filled with close friends and family members wearing a curve-hugging red dress, she describes feeling confused as to why everyone else was dressed casually. “When I came into the room and I'm the only one dressed up I was like, ‘What in the world is going on?’ [laughs] It was such a great moment. I was really emotional. Emotional because I was happy,” she expressed.
The Love and Hip Hop stars shared the exciting engagement news via Instagram on January 7. The heartwarming engagement video has been watched over 2M times. It may be in part because everyone was buzzing about the reality star’s massive bling.
Even we had to know the details about the eye-catching ring designed by Mintboy. “It is a pink 25 carat ring. It's a sapphire, my birthstone,” she shares with excitement. “The stone is so rare, so just the fact that he was able to even accomplish getting one was crazy.”
Although Keisha is pleasantly mesmerized by the size of the ring her rapper fiancé presented her with, she is also excited about getting an additional—and less sizable ring—to wear on the daily. “Right now he's in the works of getting me an everyday ring because I can't wear the one I currently have everywhere I go,” she explains.
On the topic of weddings, we had to know all the details. Keisha explained that while they have yet to lock in an official date, they both agree that their nuptials should take place in Georgia.
The owner of Original Baddie Club explains, “It'll probably be somewhere in Georgia because we’re both from Atlanta—born and raised— and our families are here. Any of our friends and family members that live in other states can fly in. That’s what we’re imagining right now, but it's definitely going to be huge. It is not only going to be our wedding to celebrate our love, but it's gonna be an experience for everybody that comes because we want a crazy wedding. We just want it to just be real fun vibes.”
As for her wedding dress, Keisha already has a designer in mind. “My dress is going to be gorgeous. It’s definitely going to be giving baddie,” she shares before letting us know the dress will feature plenty of bling.
When it comes to the honeymoon, the rappers are excited about traveling abroad. “For the honeymoon we are thinking of going to either Maldives or Bora Bora,” she reveals, before describing the destinations as romantic paradises.
Until their big trip, the couple will continue to date—a tip she offers for any couple who wants to keep the chemistry in their relationship strong.
Keisha also cites communication as a big factor for building a strong union, especially in the entertainment business. “We’re very transparent with each other. We have conversations about everything. If there's something wrong with me, and I have something on my mind, I can always go to him and talk to him about it. And if he has something on his mind, he can always come to me to talk to me about it.”
She continues, “We’re always having conversations about elevating, changing, and trying new things. We come up with so many great ideas, and I think it really stems from our support for one another. We don’t compete because we work as a team. My personality is crazy, fun, and wild and he's so calm, cool, and collective. It goes hand in hand, and it just works. He’s my bestie.”
