Lifetime Previews Testimony From Dominique Gardner For ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Sequel

"Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning" premieres this Thursday.

Ahead of the premiere of the sequel to their explosive four-part investigative docu-series Surviving R. Kelly, Lifetime has released another teaser for their follow-up production.

  • On Monday (Dec. 30), Billboard previewed a new minute-long clip from the network featuring one of R. Kelly’s alleged victims, Dominique Gardner. As you’ll recall, Gardner was ultimately reunited with her mother, Michelle Kramer, for the first time in years during one of the more harrowing moments of the show’s first installment. As shown in the original series, Kramer had discovered Gardner in a Los Angeles hotel and attempted to rescue her from the accused predator.

“Before Dominique met R. Kelly, she was this bubbly teenager. But after R. Kelly, she was dark. She was like a loner,” Kramer says in the new teaser. “He f**ked my daughter up emotionally.”

  • Gardner’s appearance in Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning marks her first time addressing the accusations made against Kelly in a televised interview. Gardner has previously opened up to the New Yorker about some of the alleged abuse she suffered at Kelly’s hands during the nine years she lived with the singer as one of his girlfriends.

  • Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning premieres this Thursday (Dec. 2). The six-hour series is split into three two-hour-long parts and concludes on Saturday (Dec. 4), according to Billboard.
