You may think French Montana's real name is actually French Montana, or you may be clever enough to know it is not. French's real name is Karim Kharbouch. The stage name "French Montana" is coined from his nickname, "French," after ability to speak French. (He also speaks Arabic.) The name "Montana" was inspired by Al Pacino's character Tony Montana in the hit movie Scarface.

French Montana's alleged first and only job was at a car wash! For a brief three days, French Montana worked at a car wash and is said to have hated it so much, he turned to the streets. French's career definitely went up from car wash to rap superstar. We like the glo' up!

  3. G.O.O.D vs. BAD

Prior to signing to Diddy's Bad Boy Records, French was very close to inking the deal over at Kanye's G.O.O.D Music. The only thing that allegedly stopped the rapper is the fact that Kanye didn't have a phone. In an interview, French stated that since Kanye doesn't like to use a phone, and French himself can barely work emails, being signed to Kanye couldn't work.

After meeting and being inspired by the youth in Uganda for his "Unforgettable" video, French Montana donated a massive $100,000 to Mama Hope Organization. This organization aims to help the community and help end poverty. In an interview with Billboard, the rapper stated, "I feel like sometimes God puts you in a platform where you're supposed to help other people." The $100,000 donation is definitely huge and shows he's more than just a rapper.

  6. UNFORGETTABLE

French Montana's "Unforgettable" ft. Swae Lee is truly unforgettable. Not only was he inspired to donate $100,000 to the Mama Hope Organization, he was also inspired by young dancing triplets from Uganda under the name "Ghetto Kids" on YouTube. He tracked them down and ultimately featured them in the video! The whole video was shot in Uganda and promoted a fun, carefree environment!

In December of 2015, Diddy gave French Montana a bonus of $1 million dollars! Instead of buying a crazy expensive car or going on a luxurious trip, French decided to donate that money to a charity that will help educate children!

In 2003, French Montana was a victim of a shooting when he was shot in the head. Fortunately enough this incident did not take the young rapper's life. He was able to recuperate in the hospital before bouncing back to his regular self. Situations like that make you realize that he was truly put on this earth for a reason. We are thankful that he survived the shooting and has become the fantastic rapper he is today.

Snoop Dogg is credited as French Montana's ultimate O.G. Allegedly if he could be any O.G., it would be Uncle Snoop!
