Doja Cat Honors Big Mama Thorton On Elvis Biopic Soundtrack Record ‘Vegas’
The biopic is set to be released in theaters on June 24th.
She has another hit on her hands! Doja Cat has been tapped to appear on the Elvis Pressley soundtrack for his biopic Elvis, releasing a track called ‘Vegas’ which samples ‘Hound Dog,’ by the legendary Big Mama Thorton.
While the song was popularized by Presley and became one of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame’s “500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll,” the original song was recorded by Thorton. It was her only hit record and reached number one on the Billboard R&B charts.
