After two months of speculation, Keke Palmer has finally revealed why she never released her interview with Jonathan Majors on her podcast “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.” During a press run for “Magazine Dreams,” Majors sat down with Keke, but the episode never aired.

In a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” she explained that ultimately, her partners saw the online reaction and felt it would be insensitive to release the conversation, and that was the basis of her decision, not judgment.

“When I’m doing my hosting, I’m here to be unbiased,” she said. “Everybody who sits in your chair, you won’t agree with everything they did, you don’t love everything, but you gotta have the conversation.”

She added that as a host, it’s her job to set the stage for guests to speak and let the audience take what they want from it. “That’s why I was excited to do the interview,” she said.

When asked why she agreed to interview him in the first place, despite the charges he faced and the expected backlash, Keke kept it honest. “At the end of the day, I feel like as a journalist, I’m supposed to talk, and we’re supposed to hear and let the public decide how they want to feel,” she said. “But that didn’t get a chance to happen.”

Keke shared that the interview still exists if people ever want to see it, but her priority is to be respectful and mindful of everyone’s perspective. “If they’re not going to feel like they’re going to receive anything good from the interview, then okay, cool,” she said.

Palmer was recently honored with the Spirit Award at the 5th Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, which recognized her as a woman who uplifts, inspires, and brings pride to the entertainment and social communities through her work — and that sounds exactly like what she had in mind for the Jonathan Majors sit-down.
