Aerie Drops Line Of Nude Underwear For Diverse Skin Tones
Black girls know all too well that finding accessible makeup in their skin tone or finding "nude" underwear presents an unnecessary challenge. So when we heard that Aerie, American Eagle's lingerie line, was creating an inclusive undies line, we couldn't help but jump for joy. In line with its previously exemplified body posi ethos, Aerie is launching a collection of bras, thongs, and briefs in five diverse colorways.
The new line, called "Real Me," starts at $14.95 for thongs and briefs, and it just so happens that the bras are currently on sale for $23. The inclusivity doesn't stop merely in the array of shades, though. The five shades, named Honesty, Inspiration, Strength, Energy, and Confidence, provides a way to think about your lingerie in a different light than being defined by the color of your garments. And with its campaign, Aerie puts on display body positivity in the form of unretouched images that breezily feature cellulite and stretch marks. Truth be told, it's the first time we feel seen by a lingerie campaign.
